Fans have picked up on a small moment in the first Twilight movie, and Rob has noticed.

The Twilight movies have become iconic over the years, reaching cult status and continuing to be a favourite at conventions and with tourists visiting Forks, Washington. It’s no surprise then that eagle-eyed fans have taken note of a ton of strange moments throughout the films over the years. The first movie alone has many of these oddly hilarious moments – Emmett’s eggs, the kids “playing” hacky sack, the ketchup bottle, to name a few – and it seems at least one fan-caught moment has reached the ears of one of the series’ stars, Robert Pattinson.

In a recent interview with Vogue posted to their TikTok, the actor opens up on the moment in which his character Edward Cullen joins his adoptive siblings in the school cafeteria, and as he takes his seat, he does a bizarre thing with his fingers…

“I thought it was like, an elegant vampiric thing to do,” Pattinson says. “But looking back on it twenty years later, you’re like, huh, that’s very strange.”

Pattinson also appears to put those Twilight hate rumours to bed.

“I really love that movie,” he says. “I don’t think I’d even be able to do the performance now.” He also praises his co-stars, saying, “Everybody took it really, really seriously. There was no, kind of, tongue-in-cheek element, no one’s winking at the audience, it’s like, very real.” Could have fooled us with those cast commentaries though, Rob(!).

This small section of the full interview, during which Pattinson creates a vampire romance-inspired cocktail, ends with him tittering and admitting, “I envy my past self and his abilities.”

It’s quite pleasing to know that even Rob can look back on those movies with fondess. Now to kick back and indulge in a Twilight drinking game: take a shot every time you spot a weird moment (bingo card optional).
